Venue: Friendship Hall

We're a friendly group with a very wide range of experience and skills from beginners to experts. Often people come along and say "I used to play years ago but..."; then find that, not only do they remember how to play, they learn new words. We have a nice big room to meet in therefore we can always accommodate new members.

We usually play two games with a sociable cuppa in the middle. It's a random choice for who you play against in the first round. After the coffee break, the pairs are rearranged so that the two highest scorers play against each other, and so on so that everyone plays against someone different and who is of a similar level. It's usually two people per board but can be three if there's an odd number there that day.

There's no pressure to attend every month. You only pay if you're there. It's £3 per meeting, which includes the refreshments. Scrabble boards and scoring implements are provided.

There’s the option to start at 11am with a cuppa, then play one game but it’s still £3 for the session because it pays for the hire of the room. You're welcome to come along to see if it suits you, but after one taster session you must join Aylsham & District u3a to continue attending.

If you are interested in starting this group up again, please contact the Groups Coordinator.
