Membership

New members

If you are interested in becoming a member of Aylsham and District u3a, please contact our Membership Secretary and provide your full name, address, contact details and method of payment in your email. Our preferred payment method is by Bank Transfer, although cheques will be accepted.

Full year membership subscriptions are:

  • Joint membership (two persons living at same address) £28
  • Single membership £15
  • Associate membership (if already a member of another u3a group) £12

All members will be provided with a bar coded membership card which should be presented at all u3a meetings, if requested to do so.

  • Explore new ideas, skills and interests by teaching and learning from each other.

Members have access to:

Monthly meetings

  • Monthly Meetings are held at 14:00 on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Aylsham Town Hall, Market Place, Aylsham, NR11 6EL.
  • Admission for members and visitors is £2, which covers the cost of the hall hire and refreshments.
  • Come along and listen to an illustrated talk by an external speaker, followed by coffee or tea and biscuits.

Coffee mornings

  • Informal Coffee Mornings are held in Aylsham (normally at the Black Boys Hotel) at 10:30 on the first Thursday of each month.
  • There's an opportunity to buy refreshments, so do come along for a chat and to meet new friends.

Interest groups

  • We have over 40 Interest Groups covering a variety of subjects within, for example, Arts & Crafts, Film & Music, Languages & Literature, Food & Drink, and Fitness & Sports. A selection of some of our interest groups are illustrated below:

Newsletters

  • A monthly local e-newsletter packed with members' contributions (including quizzes), and news about forthcoming events.
  • A magazine published five times a year by the national u3a.

NEW for 2025

  • Members can now access the membership portal on Beacon (the u3a's integrated membership, groups, finance and mailing system), to update their personal details.
  • Later this year, members will also be able to renew their membership on-line and print off their membership cards.
